We are excited to offer you this last minute hot deal from Port St John’s. This sardine run package will be running from the 4 star Ntaba River Lodge and Spar. Launching from the PSJ river mouth allows us safe, daily ocean access, to explore this beautiful coastline in search of sardine run activity. Three day options are also available however we recommend you book the full five days if you are serious about experiencing the sardine run. Priority will be given to five days or more.

Sardine Run Port St Johns Package Details
Guests are advised to fly to Mthatha Airport. From Mthatha the transfer by road to Port St Johns only 1.5 hrs.
Altenativley clients can arrive in Durban, however an overnight stop is often required as the transfer by road takes between 6 and 8 hrs.
Clients who arrive in Durban may wish to spend additional time diving Aliwal Shoal and/or Protea banks.
Oceans Africa will advise you on the best options and make arrange the necessary transportation.
Port St Johns is prime location at the heart of the Wildcoast. Within range of Waterfall Bluff to the East and Mdumbi to the West you can covcer a lot of bases. The airstirp allows operators to fly reconnaissance. As well as a light aircraft fly-in option.
Entering on snorkel allows the fastest response to action, however Scuba comes into it’s own when activity is stable.
There are some great wreck and reef sites to explore in the area near Port St johns, so if sardine related activity is low there are usually alternate scuba options nearby.
Most packages are all inclusive however it’s worth checking the fine print to make fair comparisons. Single suppliment, equipment hire and transfers all affect the checks and balances.

Due to the nature of the surf launch this package is not reccomended for children under 16 years.
You don’t need prior snorkeling experience, as it is possible to just view from the surface.
Participants need to be comfortable swimming in deep open water and have reasonable mobility and fitness to exit back onto the boat. For guests wanting deeper exploration, guides can support basic freediving introduction to enhance the experience.
Sardines arrive in water ranging between 18 and 21°C o
Appropriate exposure protection is important. We will advise 5mm full suit as a minimum with hood and boots/closed heel socks.
Tank and weights are included in this package
We reccomend you bring your own wetsuits (5mm or 7mm), mask, fins, gloves and hood as these are very personal items. Scuba grear can be rented on site at daily rate.
Guests to bring, changing towel, sunblock, jacket or windbreaker to keep warm between dives and while traveling.
