Aerial whale watching in South Africa: Flying along the coastline in the Western Cape during whale season you may easily see over 100 southern right whales, often with their calves and sometimes in mating groups of upto 10 animals. To view whales from the air is the only real way to appreciate their size and numbers!
Whale and dolphin watching flights can be arranged in most regions of South Africa. The best season to see southern right whales is from July to November in the Western Cape, with 30 -45 min flights available from Hermanus and Cape Town.
