This is a full day guided whale watching tour from Cape Town we follow the old coast road past rugged mountains and sweeping bays to reach the coastal town of Hermanus. From the cliff-top elevation the southern right whales often lie just beneath you in the shallows allowing fantastic opportunities to observe them at your leisure. In the afternoon we take you on a 2 hr boat based tour. This 1 - 3  hour close encounter whale watching charter is available from Plettenbergbay, Knysna, Hermanus, Gansbaai and Durban. After the safety briefing and launch (you should remain dry!) you explore the local area by boat in search of whale and dolphin activity. Our goal is to have an un-intrusive close encounter with some of the worlds largest mammals. The vessels are officially licensed to conduct close encounters and may legally approach whales to within 50 meters. It is then up to the whales if they wish to investigate you and the boat more closely. Outside of whale season there are still fantastic sightings to be had on any marine tour. These 2 hour boat charters are offered daily (on demand)  from Plettenbergbay and Knysna. After the unique and exciting launch from central beach or through the Knysna Heads, we explore the local area and concentrate on finding dolphin activity. Species most likely to be found are bottlenose dolphin, humpback dolphins, common dolphins and often Bryde's whales.
