Oceans Africa was founded in 2002 and now represents a collaboration between dive centers, whale watching operators, dive instructors and guides. With representatives and associates in all the main coastal centers of South Africa, a tour with Oceans Africa puts you in touch with the right people in the right places!

Graeme S. Grant has worked in marine tourism since 1995 as a dive guide and skipper in the whale waching and diving industry in South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt the UAE and Mozambique.

Graeme has spent the last three years as a dive guide in KwaZulu Natal where he helped to develop the techniques and protocols necessary to conduct baited dives on Protea Banks - "Despite my initial reservations about baited dives and the possible negative impacts of shark baiting, I have now become convinced that increased public awareness through shark tourism is perhaps the only hope these animals have of achieving any form of protective status".

Graeme is currently back in his hometown of Plettenberg Bay working on a series of shark ID drawings (see sharks) and is running whale and dolphin watching tours from Knysna on the Garden Route. He is loving the season so far.
